I look at vancouver like a I do Winnipeg, or any other canadian team. Just a rivalry. Some renditions are easier to hate, like the Cooke era, or the the Kessler era. There's nothing about this version I really hate, they're just well coached and playing well as a group, so I can respect that.
The Oilers on the other hand are easy to cheer against, even if you're just a regular fan. Going back to their decade of despair that led to McDavid, and then the sense of entitlement to the extent that they get to play under different rules, just because they have the self proclaimed best player in the game -- who still hasn't won anything btw. A team so shallow they play 3 players 30 minutes a night. Throw in Kane, Perry, the smug HNIC panel, Rogers Sportsnet, and now apparently the league itself, and yeah I'll cheer for Satan before I cheer for the Oilers.
