How the heck did you interpret that as wanting to trade Vlad for Teo?
My point is that the guy that Atkins is banking on had a WAR of 1.3 while Teo (who they could have added without giving up an asset and would have fit a need of the outfield) almost has that WAR through a quarter of the season. My argument is that the team is poorly constructed because they are treating guys like Springer and Guerrero as their core when they simply aren’t capable of carrying that weight and would likely perform a lot better if they had more support in the lineup. Guerrero and Springer’s struggles aren’t coming out of the blue. It’s been a trend that Atkins wasn’t able to address in the off season.
Atkins and Shapiro heavily promoted the fact that our top four needed to get us to the playoffs. They were wrong and they should have known that they were wrong.
