Trying to predict goalie value is a fool's game. It's entirely possible Markstrom's value won't ever come close to what New Jersey was offering again

Jacob Markstrom, like it or not, has been one of the most consistent goalies in the league for the better part of a decade. He’s not the best goalie in the league, but if you’re a team that considers goaltending a weakness, he’s better than what you have.
The dollars are non-prohibitive. The term is reasonable.
He will have value for the remainder of his deal.
And not for nothing, but if Wolf and Markstrom go 37/45 next year and both put up .910 or better, this is a playoff team.
