The fact that they're going after state trust land makes this that much more complex and probably even less likely to happen. They would have to display benefit to the citizens and tax payers of Arizona and then go through the process of application, cultural and environmental study, geo-tech study, have the state determine a minimum appraisal, have a review completed by the ASDL Board of Appeals, have a public notification, and then finally an open auction. That is just to be able to procure the land in question. That doesn't even address potential zoning concerns, building limitations, and permitting through the local municipality/municipalities. Still massive amounts of issues that could sewer this including Scottsdale residents going NIMBY and making sure development permits are never granted.

I don't see this as being realistic. The whole idea of these arena deals is the connected real estate development side projects. Getting involved with the
Wee Ko Pa Band the Yavapai Nation or any other tribal government would eliminate that potential development opportunity. Also raises a number of issues with access, road development, sovereignty considerations, etc. Trying to get a road built through or around any or the reservations is a nightmare, so I can't see a sports facility going off without a number of hitches. Also, Fort McDowell is off the beaten path like Glendale. Doesn't make sense. Maybe if Salt River wanted to play ball, but Yavapai just doesn't make sense.
