Felt like in recent years, the obvious or more exciting option for a call up was often not made in place of a veteran fourth line guy. Take today’s call up. Instead of bringing up Coronato, they would have brought up a fourth line veteran AHL player and just moved someone up from the existing fourth line to fill Posposil’s spot. Or if they did bring up a young top six forward from the farm team, the coach would usually limit his minutes instead of giving him a real opportunity.
Today, we have an exciting young sniper coming in who is not only going to get top six minutes on a scoring line but also some powerplay opportunity. Also, we’re bringing in Klapka who has all kinds of upside and adds a different element to the fourth line with his size and skill. These guys are being given the best opportunity to succeed.
They might struggle. They might do great. Either way, at least we will get to see them given a proper chance to show what they can do.

Not the only change from last year but a big one for sure. May not have gotten them in last year and Sutter still here, but lack of versality trying new things is something I'm very grateful we have this year.
