I get that someone of his age is still very much just a kid, and I say that to say, everyone makes mistakes, but especially kids and young adults are certainly more prone to making immature silly decisions that they feel passionate about in the moment.....ones that lack bigger picture thinking.

That said, someone of his pedigree, has a team of more mature people around him (agent, family, managers, etc...) helping him navigate his career. It cannot be lost on them that this is the type of smoke is something that he wouldn't want as he launches his young promising career around him. I doubt they were naive to how this would look, and the extra pressure having this negativity around this decision will weigh, so I also doubt they took the decision lightly.

I say this all to say, that maybe he is just a miss guided entitled young man who's getting bad advice (at least on the execution part of this) from his team.............but I have a tough time thinking he'd take on all this drama because of a "rookie GM" and "coaching style". Everyone knows coaches have short shelf life, he's going to go through a long list of coaches (ones he likes and doesn't) over his career (likely) so I doubt he's digging in on it in day one. I'm also struggling to think he just didn't want to be in Philly. I get players these days can pick where they play a bit more....but I doubt Philly was viewed as I refuse to go location, for any player.

So he's either, got really bad character, or there's something else at play here and he's actually showing really strong character to do this to himself to stand up for whatever it is he thinks it right. The easiest decision for him would have been to sign in Philly...........he's taken a much more difficult path here, so why did he take it. Because he's young, immature and lacks character, or because of something else? I'd put my money on something else if you made me.
