They're calling it a wrist shot goal... meaning the deke attempt, which Vladaar got a piece of, wasn't considered an attempt at all. It was just something that happened on the way to him ultimately shooting it in the net.
You'd think that would open up a whole can of worms on players now being allowed to tap in failed deke attempts, but I imagine the next time this happens it will be ruled no goal as if tonight had never happened. |
