Nylander wants a long term deal, he isn't signing a 1 year deal to stay in Toronto. He is having a career year and he will cash in on it. It would be idiotic to have a career year and then risk a poor year next year or an injury plagued season just to stay in Toronto. He loves the Leafs but he doesn't love them enough to forgo millions of dollars. He took a discount last time, it won't happen again
