And in the meantime, they need players to lead the way for the kids, and show them how to be pros. Look at any team that didn't do that (EDM, BUF, etc), they left the kids to figure it out for themselves, and that usually doesn't go well.
Even in a rebuild, you need vets and you need to maintain culture and good professional habits.

I guess my opinion is that Kadri, Weager, Huberdeau, Backlund, Anderson, Coleman are already those veterans. I don’t think we need to worry about veterans in 4-5 years to show the young kids the way because we will have those vets over the next 2-4 years and then eventually Zary, Pospisil and others are the veterans. The Flames already have a solid core of quality vets.
