Ryan pike said it today, the mantra is "do the best you can with the players you have". This is what it has always been and will probably continue to be.
They're selling the UFAs because they have to after being burned a couple seasons ago.
They will be fully trying to make playoffs again next season.
This team would rather end up 17th and just outside of playoffs then in the bottom 3. Ending up as a middle team rather then a bottom team is a more successful achievement for them.
They probably feel like atleast they're offering a somewhat competitive e product.
Getting a top pick is not of their radar at all.
I dont like it. I dont agree with it. But it's how they are.

I would hope watching the team struggle along until we inserted the young players would change the owners mindset.
It feels like we are trying to chase something that isn't going to happen.
The goal should be to get a good team ready to open the Rogers Dome. Not add a bunch of old players to the ones we have and watch them slog along.
