We've made dozens of trips but we've only gone twice since Gulutzan coached boring hockey. Part of that was covid and the other part was being really stinking busy. My boys played hockey all weekend (and I became coach) and weeknight games are a bit harder to drive up from Lethbridge.
I remember going to quite a few games. When I lived in Calgary my dad would get called up by a busy partner who hadn't given up his tickets yet and he wanted the tickets to be used. I think we went to about 20 games the final year we lived there. After that we'd still drive up 2-3 times per year over the next 4 years until my dad changed jobs. I look back fondly at that.
One season bought a dozen games off of an old friend from Calgary who had season tickets and couldn't go to all the games. I took my father-in-law to one, my dad to about 3 and my kids to the rest. My oldest son and I were in the building when Iginla scored #500. I also scored playoff tickets for the first playoff game in the Dome in 2015. It had been 6 years of no playoffs before that and the building was buzzing. The Flames won too, so extra bonus!
