Yeah, Tampa had a world class goalie, d-man and centre. That put them on track to be really good. Then other picks turned into excellent complimentary players and that made them a contender. They were ruthless moving on from potential boat anchor contracts and problem players. To me that’s the model to follow over the next 5-7 years. Like last time, it should be fun to watch and the team will be good in 3-5 years.coaching and GM decisions will decide if they contend for a cup after that.
Flames might have the goalie. This draft should get them the centre or D. maybe both if somehow Conroy gets more 1sts.I think we have lots of future complimentary players and we’ll keep getting more. Some will exceed expectations.
Kadri and Huby will be good guys to have around to help build. It’s not that bleak.
