You're making it sound like he's never experienced a break up before, and being traded once in a league and game where that happens to 99% of players irrevocably shattered his world.
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the pressure of his contract and being at the forefront with expectations in a hockey market.
He was practically anonymous in Miami, and got to play in Barkov's shadow despite producing more. That's, like, the perfect situation for anybody that doesn't do well under pressure.
Coming here is being dropped into deep end by comparison.
