Actually, being a jew is considered a culture not recognized as a ethnicity. A culture that in large is depicted by the tenants of Judaism. That's why you have people say I'm a jew but not practicing. It means they are not a devote follow but they participate within the community. A community that is lead by the teachings of Judaism. You don't have to be devoted just participate in the community and respect its linage. There is no ethnicity requirements
All I personally see in Isreal are a bunch of white Jewish immigrants from Europe justify them killing Arabs , de homing them etc
If they are a ethnic group why can you just change your religion to be one?
