No it's not.
A 2.23 points/60 NHL forward is ranked 65th for forwards in the NHL last season. That's great production on any team and not a damning statement at all. He's literally tied at 2.23 with Aho and Svechnikov from Carolina last year ... man they suck.
Offensively the player has progressed, little argument on that. I think he's a legit top six player in this league if he can tighten up a little more defensively.
Will he? Will be interesting to watch.
But he shouldn't be traded ... because. And he certainly isn't playing himself out of the organization.
