Well the GST cut that the government just announced will build 230,000 new rental units according to TD Bank. The London announcement through the Housing Accelerator program was for 2,000 new units at a 74 million dollar investment. Theoretically if all other applications to that 4 billion dollar fund have a 37K per unit cost that would be over a million affordable units (seems high but that is what the math is). So not sure I would say they are doing nothing, that is what PP would say.
