Most of those values are a lot higher than what they should be especially when we consider age, but I would argue that Backlund's worth to the Flames would be a lot more than $2M in each of the next 2 years.

Yeah he is worth more than that, but the Flames should not sign him for more than that. The goal isn't to limp along with the same team, the goal should be to get better.
