I mean, historically you get your best returns at the Draft and thats all well and good, but we may have to throw the history books out the window here. The NHL has been all over the place for the last few years.
But can we be confident that if Conroy doesnt get the offers he wants that he'll play these guys into the season while acknowledging that this team is going nowhere, regardless of results, and trade them whenever during the season up to the Deadline and then plug holes from there?
Because we all know...if they manage to perform and we're in a playoff spot at times, its going to be really hard to make the call to trade them at that point.
Because if that happens, you may as well save the demolition crew some time and just let the fans with torches and pitchforks take care of bringing down the 'Dome.
