Gio, Brodie, and Hamonic. Yes, they lost the opportunity to get fourth round picks for an older veteran (lost in expansion draft), a player they replaced with Tanev, and a guy who had a hard time finding work after the Flames? I am glad that Conroy is putting pressure on the 2024 free agents. That shows learning from Gaudreau. It still sounds to me that they took the best deal available for Matthew. That is what I want the Flames to do. When trading take the best deal available, grow your asset base through the draft, retain top players, sell players who are not core pieces and inject youth into the line up.
We can disagree on the best way forward. If you mock the team you follow for trying to win games then I think we are talking past each other.
