I'd rather dress 18 enthusiastic kids in Flames jerseys who bring a pelletier-like attitude about being here than a collection of vets that needed extra millions to be convinced to keep Calgary their winter home where they bring an entitled attitude to the ice each day.
Kadri's performance last year really outed him as a mercenary with no heart. I've never seen him play so badly with so little emotion (except for angst towards his coach for not wanting to give his ####y play more ice time..well no #### Nazem). Guys like that can be fired into the sun. He's welcome to bolt to the KHL.
I think you can get better performances out of worse players with an eager attitude than better/more talented players who are just coasting and collecting paychecks anyways.
