I definitely don’t think he deterred anything. Players know they won’t have to fight him so why would they care?

I remember in the first round of 2022 when Benn was getting in Tkachuk’s face and the Flames started the next game with Lucic taking the face off with Benn and Looch chased him around all shift and Benn didn’t go after Tkachuk again. Deterrent right there.
