Jared Bednar saw 1 round in his first 3 years. Capped it off with an AHL championship in his 4th year, of course, but then took the Avs Head Coach position and had a franchise-worst season. 5 years later and he's a Stanley Cup champion.
These things aren't as straightforward and easy to plot as people want them to be.
