You can bet they care about it even more than McDavid or Draisaitl do. Woody is probably just carrying out marching orders from the greasy lamb chops that watch over him.
The funny part is I think that as long as that's the priority, they'll hold themselves back from ever reaching the ultimate prize, because of how much they lean on those two guys and ride them into the ground, even in inappropriate situations.
Just look how burnt out Draisaitl was at the end.

McDavid and Draisaitl have been overplayed going back to the McLellan years as the mentality of overplaying their superstars just keeps getting carried over from coach to coach. For years it seemed like they were up to the task but these playoffs were the first time you could see the fatigue setting in for both players. If by chance they beat the Knights in 7 games I'm not sure they had enough gas to go another two rounds. Draisaitl is going to be 28 next season and you wonder how long a big guy like him can last playing that much hockey every season.
