I could see Huberdeau, but man… I would have to see a completely different player next year to like that choice. I respect the position he was put in but he gave little from the fan perspective.
Since he was mentioned, I like Andersson for it actually. Long term guy, young, spirited.
I definitely don’t buy anything around the “needs to sign a team friendly deal first” or “no more 30+ guys on long term contracts.” I especially don’t like pinning our history on Backlund, because if you like what Huberdeau did given the circumstances then I can’t possibly imagine how you would not extend the same to Backlund, an absolute gamer regardless of the circumstances he’s put in. I think people need to get over that stuff quick.
