Which is what exactly? A guy who has led a team past the first round once in his career, only to be completely shutdown by Tampa

Markstrom is very capable of a rebound year - he’s done it before and tonight was a fine performance overall.

Markstrom is will be 34 next season. The only time he gave us above average goaltending in a season, was the same season he gave us that atrocious Oilers series. No goalie over the age of 31 has spearheaded a Cup win since 2011. Kuemper and Crawford were 31 and 30. Outside of that,
Quick - 26/28
Murray - 21/22
Holtby - 28
Binnington - 26
Vasilevskiy - 25/26

And Wolf is in the wings.

To accomplish what? The Flames organization, if they even choose to give Wolf an NHL game, eill pidgeonhole him into a backup goalie role, and then create a narrative to justify crappy usage, even if that narrative is just a self-fulfilling prophecy based on arbitrary decisions.

Lucic is likely done with a replacement to come from the farm (contracts almost demand this).

This is the Flames. Their awful pro scouting and compulsion to find crappy vets in the offseason is a given.

Mangiapane is still young and can also rebound. Kids like Duehr and Pelletier look good.

Duehr looking good is about as convincing as 2015 Bouma looking good. And for Pellettier or any other legitimate prospect to get an opportunity we need a coaching change.

the D corps is very solid.

Is it though? The Flames don't have a #1D, and Noah Hanifin lacks the awareness and execution to be playing top pairing minutes for any team in meaningful games. Andersson's point totals are inflated by his role, but he's not even Jon Klingberg tier.
