He was also very clear in his actions. We've all smelt this fart before. Dress it up however you want, he's homophobic. Probably not hate, but fear, or fragile masculinity maybe.
Whatever his motivation, he took a very small bit from a very large body of work to support his statement, and only a small few of probably like-minded folk are falling for it.
