The Tkachuks have always been about money and security. I have little doubt he would have signed on if offer an 8- year deal with big money. Once he also had the option of getting to choose his place and money, that was a different matter.

If the Tkachuk's are about money and security, wouldn't it have made more sense for Matthew to have accepted a $70 million deal instead of just a $20 million deal in case of career ending injuries or etc? Brady sure was smart to take the long term money and security deal even if it meant staying in Canada.
