My thoughts on Sutter have been clear that I personally like him, but obviously where there's smoke there's fire. Something is going to have to give.
But I'm surprised more people aren't upset with the players as they have essentially quit on the coach, which I translate to quitting on owners, management and most importantly fans. Hearing comments like we won't come back if he is the coach is just further proof how poor the characters on this team are. By all means share your feedback with Tre at the end of the year, or during the year in private but at the end of the day you don't get to make those calls. The information provided can be useful but your job is to play. Last night further proved that the team has quit and it's insulting to fans and people who pay money to support this team.
As far as Huberdeau and Kadri are concerned, I see them as the main culprits. It's also surprising that both guys knew the coach and his reputation before signing here so they should take blame as well since they knew his reputation and what he brings.
I can't confirm this whatsoever but my gut feeling is that they are more concerned with sacrificing the coach and not making the playoffs to justify their level of unhappiness. If this is true I would never want to cheer for these guys again let alone have them on my team. This is not the legacy of this organization or the kind of people that should be wear the Flaming C.
I've seen enough from Huberdeau to make me believe he isn't a guy you build around. Sure, if you want to make a coaching change because it's easier to do this then get rid of this anchor of a contract then go for it. But this guy should never be close to the captaincy or any sort of leadership position. If it comes out at the end of the year that players were sabotaging the coach I would personally stop supporting this team until those guys were gone. I expect more from the players I cheer for even if they are un-happy. There is better and more constructive ways to achieve a goal then to just quit.
