The current opiod crisis is massively tied to the Big Pharma manipulation of doctors, overwhelming their better sense with bad data and offering massive personal financial incentives. Which started happening right before they gained access to hundreds of billions of opiods they could now bring to market.

So we can accept that the war was started by evil people for evil reasons, but to suggest they would loot the country of one of the most valuable substances in the world, to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars, is just a step too far? They can accept the unjust deaths of millions, but getting people hooked on heroin is where they draw the line?
