For a guy like Taffoli I think you can trade him at the deadline with retention for as much or maybe more than you can in the summer without it. So I would not be rushing out to trade him now because he has sell high value.

Often at the draft you see trades and think that's all it took to get that guy....at the deadline it can be they got that for that guy. Not always the case like Hamonic or Camalleri where the team doesn't sell a guy they should.
