They traded Glencross in 14-15 and won a round. It just means giving somebody else opportunity.

You have three major UFA d-men next year (Tanev, Hanifin, Zadorov)

Pick one from each group and shop them at 50% retained IMO (and by shop I mean listen to the market and see what had the most value).
Glencross was UFA. Trading guys under contract is just out of character for this management team. The ones who have historically been dealt, even in the off season, were those that asked to leave.

Hamilton, Bennett, Neal, Tkachuk, Baertschi, even Fox.

Ferland is maybe the only player I can think of under Treliving's tenure who was dealt and didn't either ask to be traded, or who was on an expiring deal.

I'm not expecting this deadline to be different.
