Flames seem to be quite comfortable playing 5 on 5 one goal games, you know, the stuff that actually happens in the playoffs.
People put way too much stock in what happens in overtime/shootout. It's a tiebreaking scenario that really isn't real hockey. It obviously sucks to lose this many but it's not indicative of some bigger problem that people are determined to make a thing.

Of their 41 games, they have won 16 in regulation. They're 18th in the league in 5v5 wins, with Buffalo right behind them and several games in hand, so more like 19th in the league in 5v5 wins.
