Matthews goal scoring has taken a hit because he misses games every year. When healthy he has shown he is a 50-60 goal guy.
Problem is you can't just be good, you need to stay healthy. 800 goals in 20 years and average 40 per. If you play less than 20 years it becomes very difficult especially if you miss 5-15 games a year.
Stamkos early on was on the same trajectory as AO. He's coming up way short even though he seems to have recovered and putting up big numbers again, he broke his leg and ruined any chance he had.
