I am and they would do it to avoid exactly what is happening right now.
It was entirely predictable that Ronaldo would act like this if A) He wasn't able to leave to play CL football, and B) He ended up not being a big part of the team's plans and was relegated to substitute/cup duty.
Whatever debacle this season has going on now, and not making the CL again would cost Man U a lot more money than covering $100k a week of Ronaldo's wages would have.
And personally I'm not sure Ten Hag really ever wanted to keep him to use him.
There were rumors that Ronaldo was willing to take a 30% pay cut (although who know is that's true). Problem being that $350k a week is probably still too much. But if Man U was willing to eat $100k of that, then he's probably moveable at $250K per week. This is all just an assumption but if I'm Man U the second he wants out and is acting like he's not going to be happy there then you should have tried harder to support a move.
