I think no.
there's quite a few layers between "forfeit the rest of his life" and "not get an NHL contract". Getting to play in the NHL or even being a part of an NHL organization should be a privilege and it's fair to question whether a person who has done terrible things and shown little remorse deserves such an opportunity.
