In your location bar (where you'd type
http://www.calgarypuck.com), type:
"about
:config" (without quotes)
type in filter:
browser.tabs.tabMinWidth
Double click on this Preference Name and change value to 0 (default: 100).
You shouldn't but might have to re-start Firefox for this to change.
