Why are houses even putting up displays beginning for October?

I understand them, I just cant be one of them. Honestly, in my opinion? Good for them.
Its something that they're passionate about and are willing to put the work in for. It doesnt bother me. I wish I could be that passionate about something, but I just cant.
Really, the guys who go nuts for Halloween are no different than the insane Christmas light people and I cant be one of them either. I just dont care that much.
In the past I'd paid people to put Christmas lights on my house but I dont think I've even done that in a few years. Bah humbug I say!
But if someone else wants to go and do it? Fill your boots. Its their house and their passion.
CSB, I've been walking my dog down my street, as one does and there is this massive structure this guy is building on his driveway in front of the garage.
Initially I thought it would be like some really complex shelving unit he was going to eventually move into his garage, but eventually it got too tall.
Oh yeah...its a Haunted House. It looks professionally framed (like I'd know) but it really seems like an almost permanent structure. That thing is going to be
insane.
But yeah, us people who dont go in for that sort of thing have the luxury of casually enjoying the hard and passionate work of others.
So whats the problem?
