I think this board has seen better times though when it comes to contrarian opinions, having reasonable discourse around that, and not being outright abrasive towards them. Anything not derogatory towards the Oilers is a no-fly zone.

Stop playing the victim...what you said about Kane is flat out wrong...it's not about homer opinions
If Kane actually had 7 or 8M offers he would have signed one...or at the very least it would have been reported. Look at what the actual high end UFAs got this year, ones who didn't have a mountain of baggage.
As far as attracting FAs Markstrom and Kadri were higher ranked than any UFA the Oilers have ever signed...not based on my "homer takes" but based on TSN, Sportsnet, Athletic, ect. lists.
