I can't blame his agent, at least without knowing how he advised his client. I would not at all be surprised if he advised JG to take the Flames offer after they met his demands. I can't imagine an agent recommending to decline a team after they meet your specific demands. His comments on Twitter sounded rather apologetic about how it turned out.
I don't really judge Gaudreau either. He wanted to move on. Maybe the financial part of it didn't work out the way he thought it would, but it was his right to test the market. I wish the team knew well before the last minute, but I suspect he was legitimately undecided the whole time.
