What has Miller done for the Canucks seriously. Did he help them win the division? Nope. Did he help them make the playoff? Nope. All he did was scored lots of points, so he can land himself a big contract. I'm sure he'll continue to score lots of points but will he be able to help the team make the jump to make the playoff?

Miller's contract is marginally less sucky, but only by the smallest of margins. 1.5 years younge, but 1 million more in AAV. Certainly not enough of a 'leg up' to brag about.
A producer, but arguably not a the game breaking type. Or as Treliving would put it, one who 'shies' away from the bright lights and big stage, rather than thrives in it, which is more the make up of Kadri given his recent performance.
I think you take the guy that leaves nothing in the tank when the games matter when all is said and done. We've had big point producers here before who didn't have the extra gear for playoffs. Even though we might be sacrificing some point production with the changes I think most feel good about the exchange given that playoff success is now what matter most to the fanbase.
Currently I am quite satisfied with the signing as a fan. We'll see how that ages, though.
