Baseball bores me and I hate Toronto, but I keep thinking of those Blue Jays too. 1992, won the World Series, team gutted by free agency. Retooled on the fly, 11 new roster players in 1993, won the World Series again.
Obviously you can't compare playoff results, but the sheer magnitude of change is similar.
Oh, and by the way, this signing is an obvious mistake that will haunt the Flames franchise forever. 'Cos when they win the Stanley Cup, a certain player's name will be engraved as ‘Nazzeem Kardi’. We will never live that down. Fire Treliving!
