He already did what his bridge was given to him to prove.
Why should he sign another bridge deal? Why wouldn't you want to sign him for 6-8 years? That'll cost extra in todays NHL cap world.
I think Winters his agent will want at least 6 x6 and maybe more to stay "long term".
Also eye tests suggest he will be a solid 25-35 goals a year guy, could improve with actual PP time. and his motor and drive are renowned around the league.

Did you get a chance to listen to Winter's interview on the fan?
He said that Mangiapane was interested in a "longer term" deal. Eric said long term and Winter than corrected him for 'longer term".
After listening to the interview I feel as if the Flames might sign him to a 3-4 year deal.
A 3-4 year deal probably also allow Mangiapane to get another big deal after this one. Winter also said Mangiapane feels like he can pot 40-45 goals if given more opportunity.
Was very interesting to say the least.
