What the problem with your post is that mistakes are the worst evaluation tool of a defenseman. Mistakes have the highest emotional weighting, and thus color our judgement harder than any other aspect of play.
You need more guys like Weegar and Brodie, not less.
My only concern about Weegar is skating, since your top four has to be able to skate with McDavid. I think the Kylington - Tanev pair should be kept intact regardless of anything else
