They shouldn't have had Gaudreau to begin with. They should have traded him after he totally bombed out in the 2019 playoffs, and his value was sky high with term.
As soon as he proved that he could never be effective against real teams in the playoffs, this team should have gone in a whole other direction if it really wanted a cup.
But yeah, since we literally knew this and kept him to end of term, yeah. likely means a burn down now.
