fwiw, i moved cities with my wife, having our first child (and first grandchild), for, while good for us, signficantly lower than what Johnny and fam will get.
I think the point is moot, so long as the place he's going to (Flames) has been good to him and his family.
For someone with his bank account, a plane ride home really isn't all that difficult. Or a plane ride to bring family in.
