The obsession with NHL ironman streak has never made a lot of sense to me. It's nothing more than a badge of luck and good fortune, there's no award for it, and I find it embarrassing quite frankly when for example Kessel plays one shift to keep the streak alive and then takes a private charter to see the birth of his child. I get that it's notoriety for some of these players but I hate the idea of teams playing a guy only to keep a streak going.
