Pitch Meeting just did Batman (1989). One thing that stood out for me was how themed it was. It had such a gothic, comic book look, without being Adam West Batman campy. This new movie is trying to brand itself as artistic, but that is not what I am seeing in the trailers. The trailers just make it look like the run-of-the-mill gritty crime drama where the main character just happens to be Batman.
There are thousands of Batman comics. Stories have been rehashed and retconned dozens of times. Batman in hundreds of different settings, over different times. Should they stop writing Batman comics?

If there are stories to tell, why not make movies and TV shows about them?
