I get the sense that Darryl was just downplaying the significance of the injury like he is oppositional with everything else. Thankfully in the last decade, the process for concussion screening and re-entry into game play has improved, with less control by the coach (who isn’t, and should not be expected to be, a doctor).
On a less relevant topic, I can’t imagine how insulting it would be for Stone to spend the entire year preparing himself to help the team in an emergency need, but instead of him they continue playing a recently pretzeled and possibly concussed guy in a game that will most likely be quite physical.
