The scary thing is that if they make the playoffs, that's pretty much the team they can ice. And as far as next season goes, you trade Pacioretty and Dadonov and recoup some assets lost from the Eichel trade, and you still have Eichel, Stone, Karlsson, Marchessault, Pietrangelo and Theodore. As much as you can hope, let's not pretend Vegas is just all of a sudden going to become a bottom feeder because oh no the salary cap.

Is Toronto a bottom feeder with Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, Reilly, and Muzzin? No, but it looks scarier than what Vegas is running up front, and they aren't exactly knocking on the door of the Stanley Cup Finals.
