You have to draft them. You have to get them the same way Edmonton got McDavid, Buffalo got Eichel, Pittsburgh got Crosby/Malkin, Boston got Thornton, and so on. Extremely difficult to do though if you are not drafting in the top 3 ever. For people who never want to sell and bottom out, that is the price.
If people are just waiting until one is available through trade so we can overpay and sell the farm to get him, you'll be waiting forever.
